Brittany Mahomes is the supportive wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. However, she's a lot more than that. She's a fitness expert with her own website. Recently, Mahomes was announced as one of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2024 Rookie class. In the magazine's announcement on Instagram, they shared footage from Mahomes' shoot. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Brittany Mahomes stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

Mahomes shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. One thing she enjoys doing is going on hikes. She shared these photos of a trip she took to Montana. In some of them, Mahomes and her husband are seen hiking on a mountain. Piedmont Healthcare states that hiking has a lot of benefits. "Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers. Hiking is a weight-bearing exercise, which builds muscle mass and helps prevent osteoporosis."

Mahomes used to play professional soccer. And she and her pro athlete husband like to train together. She talked about this in an interview with Men's Health. "I still consider myself an athlete, but current athletes, you know, train differently. But when we train together, you know, we just kind of push each other and like. I obviously never win, if we are training or racing or anything, but I feel like me pushing hard makes him push harder."

For Mahomes, fitness is a huge priority. She talked about this in an interview with EatingWell. "If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you know that staying active and being in the gym has been a huge part of my life. I played soccer in college and professionally, but found that as my career was coming to an end, being in the gym was something that I remained super passionate about. I enjoy strength training and lifting weights mostly, but also walks with the kids and the dogs. Staying active is a huge priority for me as a mom because I believe that it helps me to be the best version of myself for my kids, both physically and mentally. Being able to run around with them and teach them to play sports as they grow is so important to me!"

Mahomes' two children have severe food allergies. She tells EatingWell what healthy snacks she keeps in the VIP fridge that are safe for her family. "We keep the suite nut-free but stock it with lots of good food and drinks! We keep protein shakes in the fridge with lots of water and energy drinks (and a few adult beverages for the 21-plus crowd). They always have chicken tenders, soft pretzels, sweet treats and fruit and veggie trays. Game days are meant to be enjoyed, so I try to make sure there is lots of fun food and drinks for our friends and family while still keeping the food safe for my kids!"

While in Montana, Mahomes did some horseback riding. In one of the photos she posted on Instagram, she is seen riding in a field. The American Heart Association states that riding and spending time with horses has benefits. "Riding a horse for 45 minutes at a walk, trot and canter can burn up to 200 calories," Dr. Dennis Sigler, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horse specialist and professor in the department of animal science at Texas A&M University in College Station explained. "If you do something a bit more strenuous such as cutting or reining, that can come out to nearly seven calories per minute for the entire length of the riding period."
