Earlier today Burnely FC’s striker Andre Gray become a hero as he scored past Liverpool FC in a 2-0 win at Turf Moor. But after the final whistle shocking tweets from 2012 started to come to light.
The player made a string of homophobic comments during 2012 including asking for gay people to die and burn.
Since the shocking tweets came to light the forward has swiftly deleted his vile comments but after thousands of retweets and screenshots it is unlikely he will escape serious punishment from both the FA and Burnley.
Here is a timeline of the absolutely shocking, vile and unacceptable tweets from Gray.
The striker also tweeted a shocking comment about a road accident.
The tweets were sent when the Premier League player was playing for non-league Hinkley United.
