Cobie Smulders is a Canadian model and actress widely known for her role of Robin Scherbatsky in C.B.S. sitcom How I met Your Mother and as Maria Hill, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent in Marvel’s superhero film series The Avengers. She has also made several guest appearances in A.B.C.’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Cobie Smulders was born as Jacoba Francisca Maria “Cobie” Smulders to a Dutch father and British mother on 3rd April 1982 in Vancouver, Canada. She shares her birthday with Algerian Actress Sofia Boutella. She was mostly raised in White Rock and later moved to West Point Grey neighborhood in Vancouver to attend Lord Byng Secondary School. She was named after her great-aunt. She has four sisters and is a fluent listener of French. She aspired to be a marine-life biologist during her youth years and participated in various sports, including swimming, soccer, and tennis.
She was voted as Most Respected during her senior year at high school. She was also a member of Girl Guides of Canada as a young child.

Cobie Smulders started her acting role as a guest in the Sci-fi series Jeremiah. She has also made a recurring appearance in The L Word.
