At the young age of 30, Tiantian Kullander, one of the founders of Hong Kong-based digital asset company Amber Group, has passed away suddenly.
Tiantian Kullander passed away in his sleep on November 23. The company confirmed this sad news on their website.
In a statement on their website, the company remembered him as a “devoted” husband and “loving” father, and commemorated his contributions to the company.
Known by his peers as “TT,” the company remembered him as a “respected thought leader and widely recognized pioneer for the industry.”
They highlighted his willingness to collaborate and his desire to help others, and expressed their sorrow for the loss of “a great partner and a true friend.”
Specific details surrounding Kullander’s sudden demise were not disclosed.
In 2017, Kullander co-founded Amber with a group of finance insiders, which included former employees of Goldman Sachs Group and Morgan Stanley.
Prior to this, he worked as a trader at both finance giants and was listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2019.
The start-up had gained a valuation of $3 billion earlier this year following a $200 million funding round.
The company stated, “TT’s legacy will live on, and we will continue to work diligently to fulfill TT’s ambition and dream of making Amber the leading company in our industry.”
The statement also requested that the privacy of Kullander’s family be respected during this difficult time, as he is survived by his wife and their beloved son.
