Thursday night football saw Daniel Jones and the New York Giants face off against the San Francisco 49ers, and once again, the primetime spotlight seemed to cast a shadow on the quarterback's performance.

The Giants were handed a decisive 12-30 loss, leaving Jones with a dismal 1-11 record in primetime games over his five seasons in the NFL.

Jones failed to find the endzone on TNF

In a game where the Giants' offense struggled to find its rhythm, Jones completed 22 of 32passes for a mere 137 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.

His quarterback rating for the night landed at a lackluster 64.2.

While Jones managed to avoid being sacked frequently, he faced relentless pressure from the 49ers' defense, led by Nick Bosa, resulting in an average of just 4.3 yards per passing attempt.

Giants offense lacks rythm

Despite Jones' attempts to spread the ball to seven different receivers, none managed to accumulate more than 32 receiving yards.

Losing star running back Saquon Barkley in a short week and facing a formidable 49ers defense posed additional challenges for the Giants.

The offense struggled, gaining a mere 150 yards on 46 offensive plays. Even after a promising opening drive and cutting the game to a five-point deficit in the third quarter, the Giants failed to maintain momentum.

During the postgame press conference, Jones acknowledged the offense's poor performance, stating, "We didn't create a rhythm, we didn't execute, we didn't take advantage of our opportunities... when you're playing good teams you can't afford to do that."

Jones' struggles in primetime games are raising questions about his ability to lead the Giants to success this season and beyond.

The team currently sits at a 1-2 record, with Jones throwing for fewer than 100 yards in two of those contests and recording at least one interception in each of the three games.

As the Giants look to bounce back and avoid a 1-3 start, they will face the Seattle Seahawks in a Week 4 home matchup on Monday night, October 2. For Daniel Jones, it's an opportunity to reverse his primetime bad luck and lead his team back to victory.
