Love, Doug is a big fan of wrestling weddings; he’s even been involved in one.
Major League Wrestling‘s Love, Doug recently sat down with WrestleZone‘s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. When asked about his wrestling wedding with Little Mean Kathleen, Doug said it was probably the biggest thing he’s done so far in his wrestling career.
“That was probably the biggest thing in my wrestling career was the wedding.” Love, Doug said. “Because I know those are such big, monumental things in wrestling. People take those very seriously. They get very into them, and a lot of people cared and — I thought I was going to marry Little Mean Kathleen.”
The wedding didn’t exactly go as planned (but no wrestling wedding ever does). Despite the unfortunate ending to his nuptials, it’s good to see Doug can look at the bright side.
Billy and Chuck’s WWE wedding
Another one of Love, Doug’s favorite wrestling weddings was Billy and Chuck’s in WWE. This one didn’t end the way fans thought either, but it was good television.
“One of my favorites — it didn’t end well either — would be Chuck and Billy,” Love, Doug said. “I really enjoyed that wedding. The build-up to it, right until the very moment, I was believing every second of it.”
Love, Doug also took some time to give props to his favorite real-life wrestling couple.
“I would [also] probably say Rex Lawless and Willow Nightingale. Their energy is just perfect for each other. Seeing them interact at shows, no matter which one’s booked, they’re normally always there. I think that’s something that is very hard to find, a supportive spouse.”
