On Saturday, at a concert in New Zealand, Madonna spoke about her son Rocco and dedicated song “La Vie en Rose” to him.
“It’s true, there is no love stronger than a mother for her son,” Madonna said of Rocco. “And if I talk about it too much, I might cry.”
While addressing the audience at Auckland’s Vector Arena, she said
“But I would like to dedicate this song to him. It’s a love song for a man, but I know he’ll be one, one day”.
“I hope he hears this somewhere and he knows how much I miss him,” she said before singing “La Vie en Rose.”
The singer is in the midst of a legal battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over custody of their 15-year-old son. The battle began in December last year when Rocco left his mother’s world tour after an argument over his phone and came to London to be with his father Ritchie. Although, according to The Mail,
“Pop star has conceded defeat to her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over the custody of their 15-year-old son. The singer has told friends she has ‘lost the battle’ after finally admitting her son does not want to live with her.”
