Film star Keanu Reeves is insanely rich. However, money is not the most important thing to him. Notably, the Canadian native is considered the most generous star in Hollywood.

He happily gives money away to those in need and even worries that the amount of wealth he has may be too much for him.

Reeves told the Chicago Tribune in May 2003 that money was the last thing he thought about, adding he could still live off what he had throughout the years:

"Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I've already made for the next few centuries."

At the time, the multi-millionaire planned on giving away $80 million, an amount he earned from the sci-fi trilogy, "The Matrix."

Per Page Six, Reeves is estimated to have made $315 million in his acting career. Interestingly, his pal once revealed he was "embarrassed about that."

The family friend disclosed that the "John Wick" star has given away a lot of money and done a lot more than others would ever know:

"He knows how lucky he is. Unlike many Hollywood mega stars, he never takes any of this for granted."

Meanwhile, a Hollywood producer stated: "Keanu's infamous for his generosity," citing a story that Reeves gave a $20,000 bonus to "The Matrix" set builder who had financial woes.

Moreover, one casting director revealed that the reason Reeves starred in 60 films was everyone loved working with him. The list includes directors, crews, and co-stars.

The source, who previously worked with him, said the Hollywood A-lister is punctual, always comes prepared to work, knows how to communicate, and is kind-hearted and thoughtful. "There's no one whose name he doesn't know or hasn't had a conversation with," said the insider.

REEVES LIVES BY GIVING

Even some fellow celebrities have been mesmerized by how Reeves carries himself in public. In April 2018, former TV presenter, Joe Rogan, described Reeves as a "regular guy."

When he asked one of his guests on his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," how it was meeting the actor, the guest shared that his aura was different.

The guest noted that Reeves had calm energy about him, and that was when Rogan chimed in and said it was how he handled being famous.

"He hit that 'Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise level' of fame and then just became this super chill mellow guy," said Rogan, adding that he seems so normal that he goes on subways and sits alone:

"That guy goes and sits on the subway by himself. There's no obvious outward displays of wealth from him, and he's insanely wealthy."

While it is evident that Reeves lives his life just like any other ordinary person, he pulled another shocker in January 2020 when he was spotted eating ice cream outside a store.

Fox KTVU reported that the award-winning actor walked into the Baskin and Robbins in Alameda, California, on Blanding Avenue and bought an ice cream scoop in a cone. One employee revealed that he left a big tip after putting a large sum in the tip jar.

Later, Reeves was spotted casually eating his ice cream while sitting on a staircase with his legs crossed. A fan mistook him for a doppelganger but wanted confirmation from fellow fans on social media. That same individual managed to get a photo with the fan-favorite star.

Reeves was said to be around the area while filming the "Matrix 4." He previously gifted the 12 stuntmen who worked on the second installment of the trilogy, "The Matrix Reloaded," with some of his favorite things. That included a Harley Davidson bike.

Then in his second most loved movie franchise, "John Wick 4," Reeves presented Rolex Submariner watches to the stuntmen that came with personal inscriptions. One Hollywood production source revealed that many stuntmen were envying to work alongside the "Something's Got To Give" star:

"Trust me; stunt guys are all dying to work with Keanu. Not just for the gifts. It's because he takes them so seriously and credits them with helping contribute to his success. Stuntmen, fight trainers – these people rarely get that."

REEVES ALSO HAS TIME FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE

Apart from gifting people with valuable items and money, Reeves also has homeless friends. In May 2018, while filming "John Wick 3," he made friends with a homeless man on the New York set.

Reeves talked with the said individual after seeing him beg for change near his set trailer. He even signed an autograph on the man's cardboard sign.

In November of that year, a social media user revealed on Twitter that an Uber driver disclosed Reeves would give him hundreds of dollars to give to the homeless.

However, he asked him to keep it discreet as he did not want people to know that the money came from him. Each homeless person received $100.

In 1997, Reeves met a homeless man and decided to spend time with him on the side of the streets of West Hollywood.

He was photographed eating snacks and sharing his drink while lying down, listening to the man's stories, and exchanging his.

FANS BELIEVE REEVES IS A GODSENT

Reeves has no doubt not only won over people's hearts as an actor, but he sure has made an impression on a personal level.

That said, fans want to know more about him and his endless good deeds, said one Twitter user in March 2022, adding it was rare to find someone as grounded as Reeves in Hollywood.

"He is one of my favorite humans. Any wonder?" said one person on Twitter. Another stated that he was "a true human."

One individual expressed admiration for Reeves, adding no other Hollywood star compares. "He's just one of a kind. He's special. God created him like that. I love him."

Another person stated they would marry Reeves "in a heartbeat." "Equally as sweet. Very down to earth. And very sweet and kind. I'd marry him in a heartbeat," said the user.

PART OF REEVES' GENEROSITY STEMS FROM TRAGEDY

Insiders once revealed that Reeves desires to share because of the traumas he previously suffered in his life. In 1993, the "Shadows" author lost his beloved best friend and co-star River Phoenix, and his death reportedly left him reeling with devastation.

Then came 1999 when his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, prematurely gave birth to their daughter, Ava – who was stillborn. The couple could not bear the grief and decided to split, but they reunited in 2001.

Sadly, Syme also tragically passed away after a car accident in April 2001 and died on the scene. While she went into depression following the loss of their baby, Reeves also suffered from grief for a very long time, said a colleague:

"If Ava's death wasn't devastating enough, he'd considered Jennifer his soulmate. He had some seriously dark days after that."

Reeves had also endured abandonment from his father, Samuel, who left the family when he was only a child. Samuel died in 2018 and had served two years of a ten-year prison sentence. When he was still alive, his son wanted nothing to do with him because of resentment.

In 1991, Reeves' sister Kim was diagnosed with leukemia which inspired him to donate millions of dollars to cancer charities.

Moreover, what he has been through made him avoid settling down. He lived in hotels most of his adult life and only purchased a house when he was 40. Reeves told Esquire in 2017 that having children now was no longer on the cards for him:

"It’s too late. I’m 52. I'm not going to have any kids."

Although his life has been filled with grief, it made him a genuine human being who values relationships with people instead of fame and money.

After years of suffering, Reeves has now found peace with a woman named Alexandra Grant, who values him not for money but his personality. She is an artist and not famous like him.
