Disney Channel is giving viewers the crossover of this generation with Raven About BUNK’D later tonight and Celeb Secrets has the scoop on what you can expect straight from the cast.
Combining the casts of both Raven’s Home and BUNK’D, the hour-long episode follows Raven (Raven-Symoné), Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol), Booker (Isaac Ryan Brown), Nia (Navia Robinson), Levi (Jason Maybaum) and Tess (Sky Katz) as they set out for a long trip to Maine’s Camp Champion, but a GPS glitch sends them off course to Camp Kikiwaka, a place with an uncertain future even for those who can catch a glimpse of the future.
While Raven and Chelsea hunt for Maine lobster, the kids make arts and crafts and develop feats of engineering, and then set out to find the camp’s infamous “Snipe” in Moose Rump’s Forbidden Forest. Featuring celebrity piglets, hidden tunnels and a musical performance, the newcomers forge a camaraderie with Lou (Miranda May), Noah (Israel Johnson), Ava (Shelby Simmons), Destiny (Mallory James Mahoney), Gwen (Scarlett Estevez), Finn (Will Buie Jr), and Matteo (Raphael Alejandro) – and set out to own the summer.
“There are multiple storylines within the episode, so you’re not going on one adventure, you’re going on multiple adventures with all of your favorite characters,” Miranda May tells Celeb Secrets over a Zoom call. “They are all in some kind of mischief and craziness but they are doing it together this time. They’re creating friendships and there’s a lot to watch.”
Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to sit down with cast members Raven-Symone and Miranda May to talk about what’s to come from the highly-anticipated crossover, their initial reactions when hearing the news as well as their favorite scenes. With a fun-filled story that blends two series into one camp-tastic universe, Raven About BUNK’D is the perfect family special that will have an impact on kids today and many generations to follow.
“When I heard that we were doing a crossover, I was very worried because I didn’t know who they were going to put us with,” Raven shares with Celeb Secrets. “I’ve wanted to work [with Miranda] for so long. We became friends prior to this Bunk’d episode — we’re still trying to create shows together — and when they said we were doing this, I said, ‘oh my god you guys. You had no idea how happy you made me.'”
“I made it my personal project on set to strengthen myself and Anneliese and Miranda’s friendship so we can work together in the future, but I was very, very happy. The kids on our show are super talented and my kids were able to come and have fun and work with talented people as well. It was a journey and it was so much fun.”
“It was the best news,” Miranda says when she heard the BUNK’D crossover was with Raven’s Home. “It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a big responsibility because there is so much hype!”
