Why Choose The American School of Classical Studies at Athens?
The American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA) is a foreign archaeological institute in Athens, Greece and a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). Founded in 1881, ASCSA offers scholars and graduate students from affiliated universities and colleges in North America a platform for taking advanced studies in all aspects of ancient to present day Greek culture. As a teaching institution, we provide an academic year program for graduate students and summer sessions for undergraduate and secondary school teachers to introduce them to Greek civilization monuments and sites. We also contribute to efforts in educating the Greek public, as well as Greek scholarly and international communities, through our state-of-the-art libraries - the Gennadius and Blegen. These facilities offer global access to a union catalog through AMBROSIA.
