Grealish sat out City’s 5-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday because of a thigh problem and will now miss England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine on September 9 and friendly against Scotland on September 12.

Alexander-Arnold underwent a scan on Monday and is set to be sidelined for two weeks after suffering a minor hamstring strain in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old was replaced in the 71st minute and after receiving treatment on the field, he walked straight down the tunnel.

The injury leaves him a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 16 but his availability for the fixture will depend on how he responds to treatment. He is expected to miss no more than one Premier League game.

Alexander Arnold’s injury adds to the list of defensive absentees for Gareth Southgate’s side, with John Stones, Luke Shaw and Tyrone Mings also sidelined.

The remainder of the England squad reported to St George’s Park as planned on Monday ahead of September’s two fixtures, apart from Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier, who’s arrival has been delayed until Wednesday due to a personal commitment.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, meanwhile, has also been forced to withdraw from France’s squad due to a hamstring injury.

Konate, 24, had been picked by Didier Deschamps for France’s upcoming international fixtures against Republic of Ireland and Germany, but he has missed Liverpool’s last two games and subsequently hasn’t recovered in time to represent his country.
